The Kotodetki Foundation is a charitable project dedicated to helping stray animals. Founded in 2013, it is located in Moscow and works in several other Russian cities. It supports municipal and private shelters. Among the key areas are treatment, sterilisation and finding homes for animals.
The Kotodetki Foundation stands out for its active educational programme ‘Lessons of Kindness' for children and adults. This includes unique projects, such as ‘Wagon of Kindness' and ‘Zoogorodok', aimed at attracting public attention to the problem of homeless animals.
The challenge
The task was to make a completely new website design, as the clients decided to switch to a different Bitrix CMS system. It was important to make a user-friendly site so that the target audience could easily make donations on the site and find the information they needed. We also added elements of corporate style in the form of accent colours and illustrations with animals. which gave the site a friendly mood.
If you look at the websites of different funds, you can see the difference in the visuals. Despite the rather simple design, it stands out well among the ‘competitors'
After the design, we continued to work on other tasks, I also made the Kotodetki graphic materials that they can use either on electronic media or print out and give to guests on site at the Zoogorodok.
Solution for new website
The first thing we did was to abandon the coloured background throughout the site, leaving white and pink to avoid distracting users. We also left an accent turquoise background for important information in some blocks.
Updates
Made a user-friendly donation form
Updates
Implemented a tagging system for animals to make browsing profiles as easy as possible
Updates
Pages with important events were refreshed with author’s illustrations and non-standard block grid.
Graphic materials with a new style
After designing the website, clients contacted me to design guides, handbooks and posters in our new style.
